Today, I received my LPL Lavender & Vetiver 2014 Limited Edition for Razor & Brush. I was so excited I decided to shave with this soap straightaway.
Razor – WW2 Fasan German Field Razor
Blade – Polsilver
Brush – EverReady Restored Badger
Soap – LPL LE 2014 for Razor & Brush
This shaving soap is spectacular! I cannot express the quality and performance of this soap in words… really! It’s ethereal, yet very thick and luscious.
I encountered an anomaly with the scent though… When I opened the tin for the first time, I could smell the lavender and the vetiver…. But when I loaded the brush and bowl lathered the soap, the vetiver overpowered the lavender.
Oddly, when I applied the lather to my face, the lavender appeared again. Later in the video, you will see me smell the soap once more, oddly it seems when the soap dried I could again smell the lavender again. So, I am not sure if the vetiver pops out, and becomes more pronounced with warm/hot water… Or with just water in general, but it seemed like something like that is occurring, al least for me anyway. This obviously is a YMMV type of thing.
Anyway, this stuff is fantastic and I am very happy that I bought it.
