Soap – Godrej Shaving Round
Aftershave – Phoenix – Ahab’s Bitter
Razor – Gillette Aristocrat
Blade – Gillette Silver Blue
Brush – Simpson’s Duke
Scent. As I state in the video the Godrej shaving round is a very low cost soap, it performs very well especially when you consider the price point ~.20 cents or so. The scent is clean, and reminds me of cleaners used to clean the house, not saying that is bad, it is what I just detect. I actually like the smell. While I say tat, I do not love it either. I find it comparable to Arko in performance. Also, as in the love hate relationship people may find with it. But for like twenty cents a puck or so, who can complain?
Ahab’s Bitter –
The top note is total coffee.
The Mid and Base notes show vanilla, hay and a tiny bit of floral aspect. The vanilla probably comes from the coumarin, as does some of the the hay qualities. As I said before I smell a tiny bit of floral to it as well, not certain what though, maybe it’s the the black tea…
So far I am pretty impressed with the smell, but I love love love coffee.
From Phoenix’s Site:
The top note is indeed coffee and rather potent in that first splash! However, as you wear Ahab’s Bitter the scent becomes more developed, rounded and sophisticated. This is due to the Hay Absolute, Black Tea Extract and Coumarin used to “Ground” it! Then there is the edition of Labdanum Hydrosol in place of distilled water…
Cistus Hydrosol, also known as Rock Rose Hydrosol or Labdanum Hydrosol, possesses a rather distinctive herbaceous aroma and it’s applications in skin care and medicinal use are highly significant. Labdanum Hydrosol is highly astringent and helps to prevent and stop bleeding. Labdanum Hydrosol is also great for the cleansing and healing of of wounds. It also helps to heal scar tissue…the list goes on, but I’ll stop there for the sake of space
