Montblanc Seasons Greetings 2007 [full size photo] – Scented inks, not a super huge fan of them. Most of the time scented inks smell extremely artificial, at least that’s my opinion. Montblanc Seasons Greetings 2007 Scented ink was released for the 2007 holiday season. Its been around, its limited so when they run out its gone. The bottle is not the standard one they sell most of their inks in. Its more like the shape of a miniature cauldron. It also comes with a bit less 30ml instead of the standard 50ml. Understandable, since it is a limited edition… The scent does actually smell like vanilla, a tiny bit artificial, but not bad by any means. The scent doesn’t seem to linger at all very much. I cant imagine it lasting for more than a couple of hours in an envelope.
– But –
…where this ink truly shines – is in the color. It’s beautiful! A nice deep red with hints of dark red to black shading. Very pretty. I have it inked in an inexpensive Jinhao x750 [sorry for the typo, in the review image]. I have to admit, this pen is giving me problems with this ink. Well, actually I am not 100% sure its the ink or just the pen. The ink dries out in the nib and takes a long time to prime. It seems to be very drying. It doesn’t really seem to lubricate that great either. It does feather with the Jinhao and there is also bleed through. The dry test shows it takes a bit of time to finish drying. So, there may be obvious issues with the ink itself. However, I must reiterate the color is stunning.
In the end, I have to say – I am happy that I own some, but I understand that it may have it’s list of issues. If you enjoy this color red it’s worth putting on your list.
