a couple of weeks ago, i did something that is far from normal behavior, totally out of character… my buddy mike and i went down to the local Harley Davidson shop [i have been threatening to buy a motorcycle for years] to check out the Buell blast [nice starter bike]. we started chatting it up with a very friendly and knowledgeable sales guy. we must have been there for about an hour before i saw this really cool, totally different Harley.
the nightster
based off the sportster, but completely retro in the build this thing looks like its old school cafe racer or board racer. really pretty. well i sat there with my buddy and i felt like all of the sudden i should buy it. i ran outside – called the wife [didn’t want to buy it without discussing it first] she said fine and, she came down to check the bike out. amazingly enough she also really liked the bike. so i bought it.
here she is…

I bought this bike on 02/02/08 and love riding it. I also have a 2006 V-Rod and fell in love with the Nightster the same was as the V-Rod.
Put forward contols on the Nightster, Vance & Hines pipes and high flow air filter with a 90 degree elbow.
Really love this bike except it does ride a little too rough. Guess I need to try some different shocks or a more comfortable seat (as long as the new seat does not change the lines of the bile).
Congrats on your purchase and ride safe!
thanks so much. looking to add some pipes, grips and forward controls as well. the bike does ride a bit rough, but not a big deal for me as i dont ride long distances.
Cool bike pic!
I’ve been thinkin about getting this bike for about 5 months now. I’m pretty sure this is the bike I want. Only thing is I’m 6’6″ and I’m not sure how well I’ll fit. I haven’t gone to Harley yet to sit on one, but I feel like with forward controls it should be cool. Any thoughts on the comfort level on one of these for someone my size?
it may be tight. i still want to move the controls forward. as it is a little rough on a longer ride. i would check one out at a dealer. i also think i have seen one or two already in the hd stores with the forward controls so you may luck out.
If any one began to put the key in the lock holder, which is just above the switch. An easy mistake for a new owner of a Sportster model.
I’ve always been a guy Sportster – XL I ride a 1993 Deluxe, I have had since 1994. So when the opportunity to try the 2007 Harley-Davidson XL 1200N Sportster 1200 Forester Night came my way, I jumped. In 2007, Harley-Davidson Night Forester is the latest addition to the family XL.

I have not visited Harley to sit still, but it seems to me, forward controls would be cool. Any thoughts on one of these comfortable for someone my size?
PMP Exam
Im looking to eventually get forward controls, as it can be a bit uncomfortable at time with the mids.
