I bought a new jeep wrangler Sahara [ tj ] way back in 2003. ok it only seems like way back, but I digress… anyhow, I live in south florida and I have always wanted a wrangler so i finally bought one… let me tell you… it was a bitch to get used to the jeep at first. i went from a pretty fast vw gti vr6. to basically a barn on wheels. but at least that barn can go off-road – AND the top comes off. 🙂 [btw, no matter what anyone else tells you – the purchase had nothing at all to do with the twin $350 speeding tickets i got in my gti — I had to slow the heck down, or my wife was gonna kill me if i didn’t do it to myself first]
so, being that super – mechanical – automotive – superhero that I am [ lol ain’t that rich – im f–a–r from it actually ] I decided to do some mods. I must admit most of them are pretty lame, but again remember I have no clue as to what I am doing when it comes to cars. I figure i would share some of the easy mods i’ve done over the last couple of years. just to show that anyone can almost do it themselves =} and if not theres always that mechanic down the street that will…
now i know you are like wtf? there are a lot of sites out there that already discuss this stuff. and there are pros that tell you how too. well that’s great for them. i’m still gonna share with you in layman’s terms what the heck i did. maybe it will help someone. so, over the next couple of weeks… i will chronicle my slightly lame attempt at making my jeep look cooler and function better. or at least cooler in my mind [hey at least im honest]. =]
list of mods:

Awesome job and Thanks a TON for the Awesome How To Herc Post with pics! I’m thinking of tackling this project in my new Silverado shortbed in the next few weeks and this gives me a great overall view of how a regular guy like me might actually be able to accomplish this. Thanks again! BTW, are you still happy with it?
glad you liked it =) i still love this mod. aside from the actually amount of time it took, it was really easy. its been a couple years since i did it so i may redo the floorboards and bed soon. but ill just roll a quick coat on this time. aside from it fading slightly – due to lots of sun and use its held up really well.
